Horstmann GmbH, located near Dusseldorf Germany, has been
the leader in the design and manufacture of faulted circuit indicators
since 1946. Because Horstmann designs in quality and reliability
first, their products have been the choice of Electric Utilities
worldwide for over fifty years. Horstmann’s first faulted circuit
indicator, the mechanical rotor, has been reliably locating faults
for the last one-half century. Their first electronic unit, the
CRAB, was introduced in 1978 with lithium cell technology. This
technology offered automatic reset, greater flexibility in trip
ratings and curves, and is armed and ready to indicate fault conditions.
These FCI's do not have to rely on capacitors, current, or voltage
sources to charge and operate. Over twenty years have passed and
these faulted circuit indicators are still performing in the field
today. Horstmann revolutionized faulted circuit indicator design
and manufacture with the introduction of the Load Tracker in 1995.
This one size fits all fault indicator has built in immunity from
inrush, is hotstick installed within minutes, and adjusts to circuit
conditions to insure you always have the proper unit on your system.
Horstmann’s business is faulted circuit indicators. That’s why
they are the leader.
